I would like to facilitate a roundtable discussion on any of these topics. Let me know what resonates for you. I’m putting in order of what I think would be fun and popular:
1) Personal vs professional.
2) Attracting your ideal audience.
3) Choosing your niche focus.
Thanks!
Val
I would be happy to lead a sub-session interested in learning about ways to “pull it all together without going crazy” . Target audience are those who may have attended PodCamp3 or who have tried to tackle the SM beast on there own and are falling behind in their expectations. Especially welcomed are those NOT on a computer 24/7. These are the people that need help.
Would anyone be interested in:
- a roundtable discussion about LinkedIn best practices for job hunting and finding clients?
- using the Yahoo! Style Guide to keep a consistent message across all written channels (blogs, Twitter, profiles)?
I would like to submit a session on Social Media ROI: Tools and analytics available to to understand how effective your strategy is. What the metrics tell you and what to do with that information to improve engagement and reach your goals.
I would like to do a session on Brand Monetization. I’ve been writing it for about it for a while now as the Brand Monetization Columnist for Personal Branding Magazine and I think it’s has good potential to be a valuable session. We can have a conversation all about what to do after you’ve established your brand and made your way out into social media waters regarding: conversion, new clients acquisition, and even hosting ads. Brand Monetization is all about finding creative ways to diversify you streams of income – almost as a bi-product to who you are and what you do!
LinkedIn snuck in a few stealth privacy-grinding things that you should know about. Learn how to evaluate and disable them.
Profile optimization is key these days if you want to be an attractive candidate for employment or vendor, and there are many ways to help yourself stand out. Learn how to showcase things such as video, published works, volunteer experience, skills, courses, languages, certifications, and projects to help get your foot in the door.
I am interested in doing a session on social management…how to handle all the sites we are on, how to manage relationships on each site, who to connect with where and when, and how to stay current with the latest trends.
Secondly, I am interested in a pinterest session. I’m on it but still learning, so I’d like to see who is using it and how they are integrating it into their social media landscape.
If people are interested… would love to talk about Social TV… its been picking up momentum this past year and I am in the works on something big for tCSA in next few months so I would love to touch upon it in a session some how.
I’m really interested in Social TV topics: Getglue. Tweeting during tv shows. Streaming video (Netflix, Hulu Plus, new efforts by Redbox and Amazon). Devices like Apple TV, Roku, etc. Other systems like Plex.
I would love to talk with other WP users – not a beginning “What is WP?” session but rather an intermediate: What’s working for you? What’s not working? Even more specifically, I’m using Thesis.
Just so everyone is clear Annamarie is talking about WordPress. I wish I could be there to lead such a session, but sadly I won’t be at PodCamp this year now that I’m living in Rochester.
I would love to do a session on opportunities in social and search. The session would include:
* The new Search, Plus Your World feature of Google
* How the Google +1 button can enhance your search performance
* Why every company should be on Pinterest
I would love to end it with a discussion on lead generation opportunities through the combination of search and social media.
I’d be happy to lead a session which outlines some of the things now possible via Augmented Reality. Yelp’s Monacle is still a jaw-dropper, and I’ll research other examples. I’m surprised that more companies haven’t jumped on this platform, so we’ll take a look at what is out there!
I would like to chat with others about Mobile Marketing and Mobile Strategies for your business. Additionally, if there are any educators out there, I’d love to bump brains on how you are connecting with your students using Mobile Techniques….I have a few ideas of my own.
Here’s the session I want – how to use content marketing: blogs, podcasts, videos, ebooks, webinars, etc. to boost your business. Anyone in? I’ll lead it.
Also, if you’re interested in LinkedIn, I just wrote an ebook that you can get from my contact page: http://www.christineparizo.com/contact.html
In its purest sense, social media is a conversation supported by online tools, or networks. We know these networks as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, and others. By way of these websites, millions of people share information, thoughts, and experiences each and every day.
What does this mean for brand or businesses? The rise of social media has created a cost-effective opportunity to enhance public relations and customer engagement, if you use the medium successfully. Social Media: Putting It All Together offers brands and businesses the opportunity to obtain a richer understanding of Social Media as a marketing and engagement vehicle.
Social Media: Putting It All Together includes information such as: the Reach of Social Media, Managing Expectations, Making Social Media Work for You, Telling Your Story, Creating a Successful Social Media Campaign, and How to Engage Your Followers. Social Media: Putting It All Together is great for beginners and intermediate Social Media users, Marketing Professionals, Non-Profit Executives, and anyone looking to make an impact.
Hi Pod Campers, Here’s a session I’d love to see and am able to lead: “How To Monitor Your Online Reputation”
Especially valuable for social media novices, or professional marketers who are working with clients. I’ve been involved in helping several businesses who thought they were immune to online defamation do damage control. We’ll talk about when to respond, when to ignore, when to report and ways to turn negative reviews into positive experiences.
We’ll explore:
• Tracking what people are saying about your business
• Understanding review websites (Google Places, Yelp, Manta, Angie’s List, Yahoo) — they’re not just for restaurants anymore
• Using social media effectively to boost reputation
• When is “social” not so “social”?
All these ideas sound fantastic! Christine Parizo did a great talk on LinkedIn at a recent event and it was fantastic. She knows her stuff. As does Christine Pilch. I like the sound of both of those topics. Not to mention all the rest here on the page. Can’t wait til tomorrow.
I think I will try to cover Personal vs Professional.

Personal v. professional would be awesome. I’m in for that – I think the line gets blurred a lot, and it’s hard to hold fast in social media.
Love that idea, Val. Where does “authentic” end and TMI begin?
Hey Val,
I’m putting my two cents in for “attracting ideal audience”. Although Personal vs. Professional is great too as my Arbonne business is very personal.

I’m always looking to attract new clients…BIG YES!

Great topic! I’ve actually written an ebook on optimizing your LinkedIn profile.

Kelly, I believe that Lesley Lambert is interested in leading a Pinterest session.
Kelly, I’ll join you in the Pinterest session! Great topic.

We really wish you could come, Terran!
Thanks Christine! Wish I could be there too.
Terran, I wonder if it’s possible for you to lead a WordPress session via Skype or Google+? That would be a PodCamp first!
lol…I guess that would work. I’m sure someone else can take up the reigns. Carey Baker would be a good option.
I would love to do a session on opportunities in social and search. The session would include:
* The new Search, Plus Your World feature of Google

Thoughts?
Ja-Nae
@TheSunQueen
Sounds great Ja-Nae!
As I’ll be remote on this important day, I can do start a Google + Hangout. We’ll see who joins us from PCWM and who joins us from the wider world!
That’s a great idea, Steve!
Yes. Google+ hangouts integrated with Podcamp sounds like a great idea.
I suggested above that Terran might lead a WordPress session on G+ or Skype! Great minds…

Topics I’m interested in:
Social Media and Non-profits
Social Media and Healthcare
Audio and Video social media
Conversation!
Things I’m not interested
Personally, I hope to avoid any prepared presentations.
Social media and healthcare would be awesome!

I could lead a session on Internet video production, specifically using Google Hangout and Ustream.
I was wondering if anyone had any interest in discussing Second Life
( http://secondlife.com/ ) as as a form of Social Media. Good, bad or other?
